475: When Marriage Becomes Punishment عندما يصبح الزواج عقوبة the film that tells the story of Amina Filali. Amina, like many other girls in Morocco, was forced to marry to the man who allegedly raped her. She committed suicide by eating poison, this was done with the complicity of the law.
Follow us to get updates about the movie and the struggle by activists and artivists to stop the mentality and the law that killed Amina.
In the summer of 2011, Nadir Bouhmouch, a Moroccan student studying abroad in California returns to his home country and finds it in a state of turmoil. The uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt had spread to Morocco. The February 20th movement had begun, organized by students and promoted through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and a website called Mamfakinch. People were flooding the streets and demanding change. But the Makhzen (the ruling elite) refuses to abandon it’s grasp. This film investigates what gave birth to the revolt and the obstacles it encounters on it’s struggle for freedom, democracy, human rights and an end to corruption and poverty.
The movie will be screened Friday 24th October, 20 Uhr...

The movie "Basta" will have another life in Leipzig, it will be presented as a video installation, during two days a cocktail of Guerrilla footage showing dificulties of independent filmmaking in Morocco.
